I'm really digging this one. The lighting really makes it look beautiful, I especially love the amber hues and how the chess set almost looks like it's floating.

It is floating! Well, okay, it's not on the table :P

As for the amber hue, that was entirely luck of the draw. The light I was using spins very fast and changes colours, so I had to anticipate my shot. I expect that that was yellow and red that started to creep in. One thing is for sure, I'm probably not going to get that colour again easily!

nice lighting. Is the lighting from top or bottom ?

Lighting in the case of the clear pieces is from the bottom (which should be obvious from the picture, as you can see the stick-on lights I was using) Lighting for the frosted pieces was actually done from the side; camera left, at about the level of the chess pieces. Light source was one of those colour-changing bases you often see lighting crystal pieces.
